Once approved, you will be sent an Enrollment Agreement for your signature. Upon the Registrar’s receipt of the signed agreement along with payment for the first course, you will be officially enrolled in Hawthorn University.

Degree Program Admission Requirements

Matriculating applicants submit the online application and a non-refundable $60 fee.

MSHN Admissions Requirements

Students with a bachelor’s degree are invited to apply to the Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program. Basic computer proficiency, access to the Internet, and email are required.

Advanced placement admission may be granted to candidates with documented learning which ties their prior experience to the theories and data of holistic nutrition and includes specific descriptions of what students know and can do. Assessments include examinations, real-life tasks, or simulations. Materials used in the evaluation of prior learning include examination of course syllabi, training materials, tests, textbooks, technical manuals, and examinations. Evaluators may obtain additional information from discussions with prior instructors and program administrators, and examination of instructional equipment. Advanced placement students can transfer a maximum of twelve (12) credits in the foundation level of this master’s program.

 

MHNE Admissions Requirements

Students with a bachelor’s degree are invited to apply to the Master of Science in Health and Nutrition Education (MHNE) program. Basic computer proficiency, access to the Internet, and email are required.

Advanced placement admission may be granted to candidates with documented learning which ties their prior experience to the theories and data of holistic nutrition and includes specific descriptions of what students know and can do. Assessments include examinations, real-life tasks, or simulations. Materials used in the evaluation of prior learning include examination of course syllabi, training materials, tests, textbooks, technical manuals, and examinations. Evaluators may obtain additional information from discussions with prior instructors and program administrators, and examination of instructional equipment. Advanced placement students can transfer a maximum of seven (7) credits in the foundation level of this master’s program.

 

MSTN Admissions Requirements

Students MUST be members of the Weston A. Price Foundation before enrolling into this program. Click on the link for more information on the Weston A. Price Foundation.

Students with a bachelor’s degree are invited to apply to the Master of Science in Traditional Nutrition (MSTN) program. Basic computer proficiency, access to the Internet, and email are required.

Transfer credits are not accepted for this program.

 

DSC Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission to the Doctor of Science in Holistic Nutrition program, applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited postsecondary institution as well as a master’s degree in the field of study or related field from an appropriately accredited institution, and a minimum of two years of work experience in the field or allied field.

Applicants who already hold other master’s level or doctoral degrees in other health professions, such as a master’s in nursing, DC, ND, MD, or veterinary medicine may also apply. Applicants should have already completed prerequisite course work in:

  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Whole Foods Nutrition
  • Micronutrients
  • Macronutrients

Applicants with a master’s degree, who do not meet all these requirements, are encouraged to apply so that we may evaluate what prerequisite course work needs to be fulfilled. All these courses may be taken through the Hawthorn master’s level curriculum or at an appropriately accredited college or university.

A total of nine (9) credits can be applied to the DSC program if the courses were taken at an appropriately accredited school and are of doctoral level quality equivalent to Hawthorn’s DSC courses. A grade of B or better is required.

SFHN Admissions Requirements

Hawthorn University welcomes students who have graduated from high school or have earned a GED to be considered for enrollment to the Scientific Foundations of Holistic Nutrition program. Written permission from a legal guardian is required for admission of a person under legal age. Basic computer proficiency, access to the Internet, and E-mail are required.

 

NC Admissions Requirements

Hawthorn University welcomes students who have graduated from high school or have earned a GED to be considered for enrollment to the Nutrition Consultant program. Written permission from a legal guardian is required for admission of a person under legal age. Basic computer proficiency, access to the Internet, and E-mail are required.

 

HH Admissions Requirements

Hawthorn University welcomes students who have graduated from high school or have earned a GED to be considered for enrollment to the Holistic Health Certificate program. Written permission from a legal guardian is required for admission of a person under legal age. Basic computer proficiency, access to the Internet, and E-mail are required.

 

WTNC Admissions Requirements
